Listed below are some of the characters you may find in the gym outside of

the general population and I am sure certain people/members will spring to mind straight away when you read this.

*Please do not take offense to any of this because you might fit the criteria for one, this is just a bit of fun. I have personally done some if not all of what I have listed at some point!

The bro – This guy will train arms almost every day and severely neglect training his lower body and anything he cannot see in the mirror. They can be found usually wearing a lifting belt, vest, baseball cap and swinging their arms as they walk.

All the gear, no idea – Will have new matching apparel, compressions layers on, a smart watch and a fancy water bottle with a green liquid in that “boosts performance”. You will often see this person doing very strange new exercises that are “guaranteed results” and are definitely guaranteed to turn heads. If you stop and talk to this person be ready to be told how to train!

The nipple shower – Training wise, they train just fine, keep themselves to themselves. But come rain or shine they will be in a stringer vest with nipple(s) on show.

The sweater – Again, training wise, they train just fine. Their hyenine on the other hand could do with a few tweaks. Going from equipment to equipment leaving a trail of puddles behind them! No towel, no acknowledgment of the shire amount of sweat leaving their body.

The Snapchatter – Always on their phone documenting everything that they are doing to their 50 followers. Will normally take about 4/5 minutes in between every set so they can check their social media news feed.

The Instagram model – They spend the same amount of time getting ready to come to the gym as they would for a night out. Not a single hair out of place. Training isn’t really a priority, it is just a case of going through the motion of going to the gym in the chance they might get hit on.

The socialist – This person normally comes out in the evenings and will stop, chat/acknowledge people for the first 20 mins when walking into the gym. No headphones, always looking up for the chance of a conversation. 80% conversations and 20% training.

If there are any other big characters that you think I have missed off, I would more than love to hear their description!!

Stay safe,

Josh.
