Hand Sanitiser vs Nutrition

Two areas that are playing a huge role in our lives at the moment, everyone is washing or sanitising their hands and everyone is thinking about their nutrition.
I do not want to be the one to put a downer on it all, but if you are washing your hands religiously to aid your chances of avoiding Convid-19 but are then eating cheesy chips for lunch, 1 litre of coke and then Domino’s pizza for dinner most days you are wasting your time! That is awfully counterproductive.
The reason we are washing our hands more often than we already should is to stop the spread of any germs/virus and in turn protecting your immune system. So why would you then go and batter your immune system by constantly eating cake and jar of Nutella.
One or two slices of cake or pizza are not going to have a great effect. Pet owners out there, if you were always feeding your dog heavily processed foods would you expect them to be as energetic? – no, so why do we do it to ourselves?! Similar to our cars, we would not go and put anything in our engine, we would put petrol or diesel in.
The saying “You cannot out train a bad diet”, this does not just mean exercise. I’m not saying you can never have a beer or a biscuit. But if your diet is sub-par to be being healthy you cannot expect your training, your mental health and your immune system to be running at optimal.
Now is more important than ever to keep yourself healthy and your immune system strong!
One bad meal does not make a bad diet, likewise, one good meal does not make a good diet.
