Just a biscuit

I want to use the nations favourite biscuit, the Milk Chocolate Digestive. I for one thoroughly enjoy a biscuit or two with my tea or coffee now and again, I am sure a lot of the population is in the same boat. But what if that biscuit flies under the radar when it comes to tracking our calories or more importantly when we are trying to stick to our calorie deficit to improve our health?
Milk Chocolate Digestive x1 = 85 calories
I am going to use Rob as an example, Rob works in an office and has 3 cups of tea a day all with 2 digestives brought to him by his PA.
In 1 day, that is an extra 510 calories in just biscuits.
In 1 week, that is an extra 3,570 calories in just biscuits.
In 1 month, that is an extra 15,470 calories in just biscuits.
In 1 year, that is an extra 185,640 calories in just biscuits.
Rob is also trying to lose weight for his wedding next year in Portugal. He has a calorie deficit worked out to 400 calories per day but because he has been tracking his tea and biscuits as just a tea he has been gaining weight unfortunately. This has caused his motivation levels in the gym and in general to take a hit and because of this his mental health has dipped. Over the course of 1 year Rob has actually gained 24kg and is now in the obese category. He also now has diabetes, hip pain and knee pain from the extra weight.
Now, this is a potentially extreme example, but you could quite easily have 2 digestives with your cup of tea. You could also quite easily track it and avoid health implications. Digestives should be enjoyed, they should also be accounted for. Do not be like poor Rob.
Stay safe,
Josh.
