In sticky, awkward and generally hot times majority of us are sweating more when we train, walk, run or anything really. Do not get me started on "sleep".

But does us sweating mean that we are burning more fat??

Simple answer, no! Sweat is (salty) water leaving our body through our pours in an attempt to cool us down. This is why we sweat when we work out because our core temperature has increased.

So, just because you and myself included are sweating more does not mean that we are necessarily burning more body fat. You will technically lose weight the more you sweat because you are then carrying less water as it is sweated out, BUT as soon you take a drink hydration will restore to a balance.

I have seen a few people training outside in hoody in a bid to burn the last few pounds… moronic in a word! Awfully uncomfortable and just a terrible place to be.

Want to burn body fat? – create an energy deficit and leave your hoody at home!
