I have done 30 minutes on the Stairmaster before, arguably one of the worst 30 minutes of my life 😂 – In this time I burnt over 600 calories.
Anyway, meet Phil, Phil goes to gym 4 times a week, he is wanting to lose 15lbs. He is going on the Stairmaster for 10 minutes as well as doing an array of resistance machines every time he goes to the gym.

6 weeks pass and Phil has lost nothing.
Why? Because Phil has not created a deficit of energy/calories.
Phil could in fact not go to the gym what so ever, install a deficit of calories and lose weight!
“You cannot out train a bad diet”
Regardless of how much time you spend in the gym and/or on the Stairmaster if you are continuing to consume more than your body burns you will 99.99% of the time gain weight.
So, to answer the question, what is better than a Stairmaster, the answer is creating a deficit of calories/energy.
I am not saying that everyone should ditch the gym and focus purely on the diet, but there is little point killing yourself in the gym to go home and indulged on a whole cheesecake.
Create a deficit of calories by consuming less and/or moving more
